Desert

Children are often drawn to the vastness of the desert, with its sweeping dunes and endless horizons. They learn about the harsh conditions that characterise this environment, from scorching temperatures to scarce water resources, and they marvel at the adaptations that enable plants and animals to flourish anyway. And that’s all before they realise the Poles are technically deserts!
